Pain Management

At the ABH Pain Clinic our specialty is in creating individually tailored treatment plans to beat pain as quickly as possible. ABH Pain Clinic provides a wholesome evaluation to find out the cause of your acute or chronic pain. Your consultation for pain will typically include evaluation by a Pain Management Anesthesiologist, Orthopedic Surgeon and a Neurosurgeon. Evaluation may also include consultation from other specialists such as those from including General Medicine and Neurology as well as some radiological studies such as CT scans, MRI scans and X-rays.

Traditional pain management is the standard medicinal treatments that have been used for a long time. Traditional pain management includes pain killers, steroids and muscle relaxants to manage pain flareups. Traditional pain management can also include cold and heat therapies. Advanced Physical therapy techniques such as Kinesiology taping also help in relieving pain without the need for invasive procedures.

Interventional pain medicine uses minimally invasive techniques to address the pain cycle. The priority for interventional medicine is to intervene on the pain cycle and block the pain from transmitting through the body by using a minimally invasive method at the root source of the pain. Interventional medicine is an ideal treatment for both acute and chronic pain and can be used to alleviate even the most complex sources of pain. Common techniques include

  • Epidural Steroid Injections
  • Joint Steroid Injections
  • Nerve Blocks

Surgical options to manage pain includes identifying the deep-rooted cause of pain and treating it via a surgical procedure. Several surgical procedures are available at ABH to alleviate chronic pain depending upon its cause. These include

  • Kyphoplasty
  • Discectomy
  • Spinal Disc Fusion Surgeries
  • Joint Replacement
